A tragic incident unfolded in St. Louis on Saturday night, where a woman tragically lost her life after an unusual series of events. Nyla Simmons was reportedly performing a dance known as twerking atop a Cadillac Escalade when she unexpectedly slid off, subsequently being struck by a fire truck en route to an emergency call.

This unfortunate accident occurred at the intersection of South Compton and Chouteau around 11:30 PM. Reports indicate that as the Escalade made a left turn, Simmons fell onto the pavement, where she was then run over by the approaching fire truck.

The St. Louis Metropolitan Police provided an official statement on the incident the following morning, detailing the sequence of events that led to this devastating outcome.

The St. Louis Metropolitan Police issued a statement regarding the tragic death of Nyla Simmons, who fell from her vehicle and was subsequently struck by a fire truck.

It is worth noting that the act of twerking on vehicles is not entirely new to St. Louis. In a notable incident from 2021, protesters associated with the Black Lives Matter movement were seen stopping police vehicles and dancing on their roofs, highlighting a trend that dances along the lines of social commentary, albeit with a flair for the dramatic.

Ah, the elegance of urban expression.
