President Donald Trump’s approval rating has dropped to 33%, marking the lowest point of his second term. Conducted from March 20-25, the poll of 1,000 respondents indicates a decline of five points since July 2025 and 11 points from the previous April.
Significant reductions in approval are noted among men, working-class Americans, and African Americans, with close to a 20-point decrease since April 2025. Moderates and independents have also shown declines of 18 and 13 points, respectively, which are critical groups for Trump’s past victory and the forthcoming midterm elections.
Trump faces widespread disapproval on various issues, with the economy being a central concern among his critics.
According to the poll:
A total of 62% of Americans somewhat or strongly disapprove of Trump’s job performance. Seventy-one percent believe he is mishandling inflation, and 61% feel he is not effectively addressing job issues. Tariffs, which were intended to be a hallmark of Trump’s policy, have backfired, as 64% of Americans give him a negative assessment on this matter.
Trump’s economic policies have exacerbated the situation, with his reluctance to address inflation further fueling public dissatisfaction and opposition to his administration.
