OnlyFans personality Skylar Mae is not one to tolerate the opinions of detractors who label her profession as “easy.” In fact, she firmly believes she exerts more effort than the typical nine-to-five worker.
“I’d argue that I definitely outwork the average person in a traditional job,” stated Skylar, 21, in an exclusive interview with Us Weekly. “I’m not referring to the top-tier CEOs of large corporations; there are individuals who work tirelessly and have significant roles. But for a standard nine-to-five worker? Yes, I can confidently say I put in more effort.”
Skylar explained that individuals outside of the adult content space usually have more structured hours, especially since she often works irregular hours throughout the day.
“My work hours are certainly longer,” she remarked. “While working from home may seem like a perk, it comes with its own challenges. I rise earlier than most of my nine-to-five friends and typically work late into the night. My job doesn’t just turn off; it’s a relentless cycle of tasks.”
On an average day, Skylar rises at approximately 4:30 a.m. to engage in “a bit of day trading,” as she mentioned she is involved with stock trading, prior to interacting with clients and editing her content. By 6:30 a.m., she is up and working out at the gym, and soon returns to editing, filming, and creating content, finishing her day around 10 p.m.
“Then I usually spend time messaging clients until I drift off to sleep, ready to do it all again the next day,” she added. “My schedule is quite packed.”
This routine remains consistent on weekends, with the sole variation being that she allows herself a few hours to watch sports games and relax with her family.
“That’s truly my off-time—spending it with my family because I’m really close to them,” she expressed. “I do put in a lot of work.”
As she juggles her personal life with her OnlyFans commitments, Skylar—who boasts over 4.7 million Instagram followers—clarified that she often checks in even on holidays as well.
“In my line of work, many people are off during the holidays, relying on their creators to share content for Christmas, Thanksgiving, Halloween, and more,” she explained. “I recall my first Christmas in this industry, thinking, ‘I can take a break.’ But I quickly realized that people want new posts and to interact with me, even sending gifts on Christmas… I definitely carve out extra time for family, but I still engage with work during the festive season.”
Skylar mentioned that the same applies to her birthday, where she often receives messages, gifts, and inquiries about her plans.
“The upkeep is significant, and while it’s not mandatory, I choose to maintain certain standards because I’ve seen the success that follows my dedication,” she elaborated. “If I allowed myself to slack off, it would be reflected in my performance metrics, and I refuse to let that happen. I am perpetually engaged in my work.”
To those who perceive her role as one filled with “glamor,” Skylar made it clear that it is anything but simple.
“From an outsider’s viewpoint, it’s easy to think, ‘She just hangs out at home, takes a few pics, and makes all this money.’ That couldn’t be further from the truth,” Skylar commented. “Come and spend a day with me, and you’ll witness the relentless hustle.”
