Paige Shiver former executive assistant to ex-Michigan coach Sherrone Moore breaks silence, claims she faces 'years of manipulation'

A former executive assistant at the University of Michigan, Paige Shiver, has come forward with allegations of manipulation, harassment, and exploitation by disgraced football coach Sherrone Moore. Shiver, represented by the Action Injury Law Group in Chicago, released a statement through her attorneys following the dropping of charges against Moore for home invasion, stalking, and breaking and entering.

Shiver, 32, described a power dynamic between herself and Moore, a married father of three and a powerful head coach, that made her feel pressured and intimidated. The statement did not provide specific details of the alleged misconduct. However, Shiver’s attorneys referenced a previous statement by athletic Director Warde Manuel, acknowledging the violation of university policy and zero tolerance for such behavior.

The statement called for a thorough investigation by the University of Michigan into the alleged conduct and any related institutional failures. Shiver’s attorney, Andrew M. Stroth, suggested that Moore had taken advantage of a younger, female employee and criticized the university’s handling of the situation.

Shiver had served as Moore’s executive assistant before his firing in December, which followed an investigation into their alleged two-year relationship. Moore was arrested for breaking into Shiver’s apartment and threatening self-harm, leading to his termination from the university. He pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges of trespassing and malicious use of a telecommunications device, with felony charges dropped.

Despite the plea deal, Shiver and Stroth expressed disappointment and hinted at a potential lawsuit against Moore and the University of Michigan. Stroth emphasized the need for justice and systemic change within the university’s athletic department.

Shiver’s contract with the school has expired, and she is no longer employed at the University of Michigan. The case continues to unfold as Moore awaits sentencing in April.
