Three individuals, including a recently paroled man, have been arrested for their involvement in a shooting incident on the West Side of Chicago that culminated in a dramatic car chase and crash on the Eisenhower Expressway. The suspects were seen firing guns on a busy street before attempting to flee from law enforcement.

According to Chicago police reports, the incident began when a silver Infiniti Q50 pulled over on West Lexington Avenue and three men exited the vehicle, indiscriminately firing weapons in different directions. The gunfire endangered passing vehicles and nearby buildings, prompting a swift response from law enforcement.

Police officers, monitoring surveillance cameras, tracked the Infiniti as it navigated through the area. The driver of the vehicle accelerated onto the Eisenhower Expressway, where a high-speed chase ensued. Near the Independence Boulevard overpass, the driver lost control while attempting to overtake another vehicle, resulting in a violent rollover crash. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and taken to Stroger Hospital for treatment, receiving traffic citations but not being charged in connection with the shooting.

One of the suspects, Zyion Wilson, 24, was found outside the crashed vehicle and matched the description of one of the gunmen involved in the initial shooting. Wilson was treated at Mount Sinai Hospital and subsequently released. Another suspect, Calvin Jackson, a six-time convicted felon recently paroled in November, was discovered in the back passenger seat with a firearm concealed under his body. Jackson was listed in critical condition at Stroger Hospital.

Terrence Calhoun, 43, was also apprehended after attempting to walk through the crash scene and pushing a CPD sergeant who instructed him to leave. Calhoun was found in possession of a rifle foregrip and was identified as a rear passenger in the Infiniti who had fired a rifle during the shooting incident. Despite a previous acquittal on Class X armed habitual criminal charges, Calhoun has a lengthy criminal history, including convictions for unlawful possession of a firearm and multiple other felonies dating back to 2001.

Jackson and Calhoun face charges of reckless discharge of a firearm and possession of a firearm by a repeat offender, while Wilson is charged with reckless discharge of a firearm and aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon. All three suspects were held in custody following court appearances before Judge Ankur Srivastava.
