Michael Nash (Chicago Police Department)

Chicago Man Accused of Robbery and Intimidation in Woodlawn Incident

Michael Nash, a 33-year-old man from Chicago, has been arrested and charged with robbery and intimidation in connection with a violent incident that took place in Woodlawn a couple of weeks ago. According to Chicago police, Nash admitted to being at the scene of the robbery but claimed he was there as a neighborhood “peacekeeper.”

On November 8, the victim was walking home when he was approached by Nash and another individual who demanded money. Nash allegedly threatened the victim with a weapon and proceeded to steal cash and other items from him while his accomplice physically attacked the victim, leaving him with serious injuries.

Police arrived at the scene shortly after the incident and were able to arrest Nash, who was attempting to flee the area. While in custody, Nash made phone calls from the police station in an attempt to intimidate the victim and a witness into staying quiet about the incident.

Despite Nash’s efforts to prevent cooperation from the victim and witness, both men provided statements to the police, and the victim positively identified Nash as one of the perpetrators. Nash has a history of felony convictions, including weapons offenses, robbery, and drug possession.

In court, Judge Susana Ortiz ordered Nash to be detained on a charge of robbery. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and Nash is set to face trial for his alleged involvement in the violent robbery in Woodlawn.

It is essential to note that the information provided in this article is based on police reports and court records related to the case against Michael Nash.
