The Penthouse Pet accused of stealing valuables from guests at an Airbnb during Coachella attempted to avoid attention on Thursday as she briefly appeared before a Los Angeles judge.

Adva Lavie, clad in a blue jail-issued gown and handcuffs, entered the courtroom prepared for the hearing, but quickly turned away after noticing a Post photographer.

Upon realizing there were cameras in the courtroom, Lavie’s attorney, Lou Shapiro, who appeared via Zoom, informed the judge that his client did not need to be present for the session.

Lavie, visibly shaken, then turned back and swiftly returned to the lockup, accompanied by a Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy as the security door closed behind her.

After the dramatic exit, Shapiro argued that his client was not a flight risk, despite being found without her GPS monitoring ankle bracelet when she was arrested Tuesday night at the Beverly Hills hotspot Azur.

“She was still in Los Angeles, she was still in Beverly Hills, she stayed locally, she had every opportunity to leave but stayed,” Shapiro argued.

An outraged prosecutor disagreed. “She cut off her ankle bracelet, how can that not be a flight risk. We don’t know if she left, she didn’t have her bracelet on,” he said.

Lavie appeared in court on a misdemeanor charge related to her allegedly missing court-ordered ankle monitor.

She did not enter a plea during the brief hearing. A judge continued the case until Sept. 10 and set her bail at $20,000.

Lavie will remain behind bars, as the missing ankle bracelet violates the terms of her bail from her original arrest in March, when she was charged with six felonies.

Those charges include two counts of grand theft, two counts of burglary, and two counts of unauthorized use of personal identifying information.

Lavie has a bail hearing on Friday which will decide if she will remain behind bars until her trial begins.

The Penthouse Pet will remain behind bars though, given the ankle bracelet missing is a violation of the terms of her bail David Buchan for Ca Post

Her arrest Tuesday was for a completely new case, stemming from the theft of two people renting an Airbnb at Coachella in 2025 when Lavie was attending the music festival, police told The California Post.

One victim reported over $25,000 in personal property missing on April 15, including jewelry, credit cards and cologne, according to police.

Another victim reported missing jewelry, high-end sunglasses and an expensive wallet, police said.

The Penthouse Pet faces 11 years if convicted on the first arrest. The Post was first to report that Lavie’s billionaire fiancé, Stephen Cloobeck, called off their wedding in early July.
