As the debate rages on regarding the timeline of former President Joe Biden’s health decline and the extent of the White House’s efforts to obscure it, Fox News senior White House correspondent Peter Doocy has emerged with pointed observations.
In a series of posts on Wednesday, Doocy criticized those questioning why the media failed to scrutinize the Biden administration over the president’s apparent decline. Known for his confrontational style with former press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, he offered his perspective based on six years of covering Biden.
“If you’re wondering why no one questioned his mental fitness or if White House staffers were masking his decline, perhaps you weren’t paying close attention,” Doocy remarked in a post on X.
But that was merely the beginning. Doocy followed up with a series of seven videos where he pressed the White House about concerns surrounding Biden’s health.
In his first video, he reminded Jean-Pierre of Biden’s past assertion that he was “sharpest before 8 p.m.,” before posing an unsettling question: “If the Pentagon detects an incoming nuclear threat at 11 p.m., who do you call? The first lady?”

In another clip, Doocy confronted Jean-Pierre about Biden repeating the same story almost verbatim during a campaign event in 2023. “What’s going on with that?” he inquired, prompting a rather evasive response from Jean-Pierre.

In February 2024, Biden found himself in a particularly awkward situation when he claimed to have recently met with a French president who had passed away in the late 1990s. Doocy later questioned whether this kind of slip-up would affect voters’ confidence in a president already facing scrutiny over his mental acuity.
“How can President Biden reassure the three-quarters of voters who are concerned about his mental state when he’s telling stories about a French president who died in 1996?” he asked, highlighting the dissonance between Biden’s narrative and public perception.

In the fourth video, Doocy provocatively asked whether Biden was being treated like a “baby” by staff, referencing insights from Franklin Foer’s book “The Last Politician.” Jean-Pierre dismissed this inquiry without addressing it directly.
Doocy then shared a clip where he challenged Biden regarding the interpretation of his actions in special counsel Robert Hur’s report. Biden, in a somewhat muddled response, spoke about restoring the country’s stability.

In another video, Doocy directly questioned Biden about a supposed one-term pledge, to which Biden emphatically denied any such conversation.

Finally, in his seventh video, Doocy posed a critical question about the lack of routine testing for age-related conditions like Parkinson’s or dementia, suggesting that a positive diagnosis could lead to a sudden halt in the administration’s operations.

Given the latest developments, it appears the Biden administration may have some serious questions to answer. For those who have observed Biden’s performance and accepted the official assurances of his health, Doocy’s assertion rings true: if you thought everything was fine, you simply weren’t paying attention.
