PH5 Resort Collection: A Dive into the Sea
PH5 is a brand on the rise, constantly expanding its product range to keep customers excited. With each new collection reveal, it feels like Christmas morning. The latest resort collection showcases mesh tops, monochrome outfits blending mesh and knit for a play on opacity, and reflective styles. But beyond just adding new items, designer Zoe Champion and CEO Wei Lin have taken a bold step forward in terms of aesthetics.
For this collection, Champion drew inspiration from the art of gyotaku, a traditional Japanese technique where fish are inked and pressed onto paper to create prints. This led to a piscine theme running throughout the designs. Fish jacquard skirts, opaque fish shapes on mesh tops, and crochet fish embellishments on peplum tops added a whimsical touch. Iridescent sequins and heat-pressed rhinestones mimicked shimmering fish scales, bringing the theme to life.
The collection also features engineered knits with Lurex, capturing the glimmering surface of water with tucks that mimic ripples. These knits add a touch of texture and movement to the pieces. A sweater adorned with a spiral shell, seaweed, and fish motifs paired with a solid knit mini offers a fresh take on the classic “lady” suit, appealing to a wider audience.
Overall, the PH5 resort collection is a playful and creative exploration of underwater themes, showcasing Champion’s innovative design approach. With a mix of traditional techniques and modern materials, the brand continues to push boundaries and captivate fashion enthusiasts.
