Philadelphia Police Seek Public’s Help in Identifying Young Armed Carjackers
The Philadelphia Police Department is reaching out to the community for assistance in identifying two armed carjackers, one of whom may be as young as 10 years old.
Surveillance footage captured the suspects carrying out four carjackings at gunpoint in North Philadelphia between August 16 and August 22.
The first incident occurred around 10 p.m. on August 16 on Girard Avenue, where the suspects, armed with a handgun, stole a vehicle from a man sitting outside.
Two days later, on August 18, the suspects approached another man in his vehicle on W. Cumberland Street at 2 a.m. and took his vehicle at gunpoint.
On August 21, around 4:45 a.m., the suspects targeted a victim parked on W. Ontario Street, knocking on the window with a handgun before stealing the vehicle.
Following a crash on Allegheny Avenue with the second stolen vehicle, the suspects proceeded to rob a 74-year-old woman of her keys and wallet while she was walking to her car on August 22.
One suspect was reportedly armed with a semi-automatic handgun during the incidents. The older suspect is described as a 17-year-old boy standing at 5 feet 8 inches tall.
The second suspect is described as a black male between 10 and 12 years old, standing at 4 feet 8 inches tall with puffy hair.
