Amidst the ongoing Immigration Customs and Enforcement operations nationwide, an individual has been apprehended for impersonating an ICE agent and carrying out a daring robbery in Philadelphia.
Law enforcement officials are currently on the lookout for a man who posed as an ICE agent, forcibly restrained a woman, and stole $1,000 in cash from her at a local repair shop over the weekend.
Reportedly, the imposter yelled “Immigration” before tying up the victim for an extended period and absconding with the money. The woman was eventually rescued by a colleague after the suspect fled in a white Ford van.
The fake agent attempted to create an authentic appearance by wearing a long-sleeve shirt, green cargo pants, and a black tactical vest labeled “Security Enforcement Agent.” Additionally, he sported a black baseball cap with an American flag motif and black sunglasses.
During the ordeal, the victim, a 50-year-old woman, sustained bruises on her arms while resisting the phony federal agent. She disclosed to FOX29 that she was originally from the Dominican Republic but became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 2007.
The victim also mentioned that she tried to catch a glimpse of the suspect’s face, but he forcibly turned her away, preventing her from identifying him.
