Morgan Geyser, the woman from Wisconsin who stabbed a sixth-grade classmate in 2014 to please the Slender Man character, is currently on the run after escaping from a group home where she was recently released. The Madison Police Department shared on Facebook that Geyser removed her court-ordered monitoring bracelet and fled on Saturday night. Authorities were alerted the following morning.

A photo of Geyser captured by a security camera within the past month was also released by the police. The department urged the public to call 911 if they spot her, mentioning that she was last seen with an adult companion.

Geyser’s lawyer, Tony Cotton, took to Instagram to post a video on Sunday, urging Geyser to surrender immediately. Cotton warned that anyone aiding her escape would face legal consequences.

A representative for the victim, Payton Leutner, confirmed that they are aware of the situation and are collaborating closely with law enforcement to ensure their safety. Leutner, who survived the attack in 2014, confessed to sleeping with scissors under her pillow for added security.

Geyser and her accomplice Anissa Weier lured Leutner into the woods when they were all 12 years old. Geyser stabbed Leutner 19 times while Weier encouraged her, leaving her for dead. Both girls later admitted to carrying out the attack in an attempt to gain favor with the fictional character Slender Man.

Geyser pleaded guilty to attempted first-degree intentional homicide, while Weier pleaded guilty to attempted second-degree intentional homicide. Due to their mental illness, they were found not guilty and placed in psychiatric care. Weier was released to her father in 2019 under strict conditions, including continuous GPS tracking and psychiatric treatment.

Geyser was released to a group home earlier this year, following multiple unsuccessful attempts for release approved by a judge. Leutner, who has since spoken publicly about the incident, remains vigilant about her safety.
