A HISTORIC INITIATIVE TO REDUCE DRUG COSTS FOR AMERICANS:

Today, President Donald J. Trump unveiled TrumpRx.gov, a groundbreaking website designed to provide American patients with substantial discounts on some of the country’s most expensive medications. The initiative aims to align drug prices with the lowest rates paid in other developed nations—a concept known as the most-favored-nation (MFN) pricing.

  • The launch today features medications from the first five pharmaceutical companies that have successfully negotiated MFN pricing agreements with the Trump Administration: AstraZeneca, Eli Lilly, EMD Serono, Novo Nordisk, and Pfizer.
  • More drugs from additional manufacturers that have signed MFN pricing agreements will be available on TrumpRx.gov in the months ahead.
  • TrumpRx.gov is designed to offer patients a seamless experience in accessing significant discounts on essential medications. Depending on the manufacturer, patients with valid prescriptions can obtain savings through easy-to-use coupons that can either be printed or downloaded to their smartphones, or through channels established by the manufacturers integrated into TrumpRx.gov.

MAJOR COST REDUCTIONS ON POPULAR MEDICATIONS:

As of today, patients purchasing through TrumpRx.gov will benefit from dramatic price cuts on 40 of the most commonly used and expensive branded drugs in the nation. Notable examples include:

  • Significant price decreases for two of the highest annual expenditure medications in the U.S., aimed at adults dealing with diabetes, heart disease (Ozempic and Wegovy), obesity, and other conditions.
    • The monthly costs for Ozempic and injectable Wegovy will plummet from $1,028 and $1,349, respectively, to an average of $350 and as low as $199 based on dosage. The Wegovy pill will see a price reduction from $1,349 to as low as $149, depending on the dosage strength.

    • Similarly, the monthly price for Zepbound will decrease from $1,088 to an average of $346, with some doses priced as low as $299.

  • Significant savings on widely used fertility medications to assist families in their journey to parenthood. Many individuals facing infertility often pay out-of-pocket for these treatments, which means they could save over $2,000 per fertility drug cycle on average.
    • Gonal-F, a prevalent fertility drug, will see its price drop to as low as $168 per pen, depending on dosage.
    • Cetrotide, another commonly utilized fertility medication, will experience a price reduction from $316 to just $22.50.
    • The cost of Ovidrel will fall from $251 to $84.

  • Discounts on various other high-cost medications, including:
    • Bevespi Aerosphere, an inhaler for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), will see a price cut from $458 to $51.
    • Airsupra, used for asthma symptoms and attacks, will drop from $504 to $201.
    • Eucrisa, a topical treatment for atopic dermatitis, will see its cost reduced from $792 to $158.
    • Insulin Lispro will be available for as little as $25 per month.
    • Duavee, which treats hot flashes and osteoporosis, will be priced down from $202 to $30.

FULFILLING COMMITMENTS TO PRIORITIZE AMERICAN PATIENTS:

President Trump is making strides to ensure that American patients are no longer burdened with high prices that effectively subsidize low prices in other countries—a feat many in the political establishment deemed unattainable.

  • On May 12, 2025, President Trump signed an Executive Order titled “Delivering Most-Favored-Nation Prescription Drug Pricing to American Patients,” which mandated the Administration to implement various strategies aimed at aligning U.S. drug prices with those of similar nations.
  • On July 31, 2025, Trump communicated with leading pharmaceutical manufacturers, outlining necessary steps to align prescription drug prices in the United States with the lowest prices available in other developed countries.
  • Since September 30, 2025, Trump has announced 16 agreements with major pharmaceutical companies to adjust prices in line with those paid in other developed nations, which are anticipated to provide considerable relief for millions of Americans.
  • On December 1, 2025, a collaborative agreement was announced by the Office of the United States Trade Representative, the Department of Commerce, and the Department of Health and Human Services with the United Kingdom, aimed at increasing the net price of new prescription drugs by 25% in the U.K., ensuring they contribute their fair share for innovative medicines.
  • On January 15, 2026, President Trump urged Congress to pass The Great Healthcare Plan, which would institutionalize savings from the Most-Favored-Nation pricing initiative, reduce insurance premiums, hold insurance companies accountable, and enhance price transparency.
