Christian Pulisic Joins Viral Donald Trump Dance Trend After Scoring Goal

U.S. men’s national team star Christian Pulisic made headlines on Monday night after scoring the opening goal in the United States’ 4-2 win over Jamaica and celebrating with the popular Donald Trump dance trend. Pulisic was seen moving his arms and hips in a similar fashion to the signature moves of the president-elect, joining a growing list of athletes who have participated in the viral dance.

When asked about his celebratory dance, Pulisic stated, “Well obviously that’s the Trump dance. It was just a dance that everyone’s doing. He’s the one who created it. I just thought it was funny.” The young soccer star was joined by teammates Weston McKennie and Ricardo Pepi in the celebration.

The trend has spread across various sports, with athletes like UFC fighter Jon Jones, Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers, and NFL players Calvin Ridley, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Za’Darius Smith, and Malcolm Rodriguez all taking part in the viral dance. Pulisic mentioned seeing others perform the dance and decided to join in on the fun.

While the dance has gained attention on social media platforms, Pulisic clarified that his participation was not meant as a political endorsement. “It’s not a political dance. It was just for fun. I saw a bunch of people do it and I thought it was funny, so I enjoyed it,” he explained.

Despite the reactions from social media users, Pulisic remained unfazed. “I hope some people did, at least,” he added. The U.S. goal scorer emphasized that the dance was simply a lighthearted moment of enjoyment.
