Read AI, a meeting notetaker AI company, recently launched a new AI-powered email-based assistant named Ada. This assistant is designed to help users manage their schedules, respond to out-of-office emails, and answer questions based on a company’s knowledge base. Described as a “digital twin” that works around the clock, Ada is available to all users who can start configuring it by sending an email to “ada@read.ai” and writing “Get me started.”

One of Ada’s key features is its ability to schedule meetings by checking your availability and proposing suitable time slots to the other party. If the suggested times are not convenient, Ada will suggest new options. While Ada has access to your calendar through Read AI, it maintains the privacy of the nature of your meetings with others.

In addition to scheduling meetings, Ada can also provide information by utilizing a company’s knowledge base, topics discussed in previous meetings, and public internet searches. Users can ask Ada questions like, “Can you provide an update on how we are tracking for Q1 goals?” to retrieve relevant information.

Moreover, Ada assists in crafting responses to incoming queries within email threads. It helps refine the response before sending it out, ensuring that no sensitive information is disclosed without the user’s consent. Justin Farris, Read AI’s VP of Product, highlighted that Ada builds a knowledge graph based on meeting data and connected services for more contextual answers, without relying on Model Context Protocols (MCPs).

CEO David Shim explained that adding Ada to your workflow is akin to training a new employee. As users connect more services to Ada, it becomes capable of handling additional tasks and taking proactive actions. For instance, Ada can remind users to follow up on action items discussed in meetings with contextual data.

Although Ada currently operates via email, the company plans to expand its availability to platforms like Slack and Teams in the near future. With over 5 million monthly active users and a goal to reach 10 million, Read AI continues to see strong growth. The company attracts 50,000 sign-ups daily, with 100,000 users consuming Read AI’s content, such as meeting summaries, without creating an account.

While the U.S. remains Read AI’s largest market, the company is experiencing significant international growth, with 60% of users located outside the U.S. Despite raising over $81 million in funding, Read AI continues to innovate by adding AI-powered tools like Search Copilot for knowledge discovery and enhancing customer-service relationship software.

In the competitive landscape of meeting notetakers, companies like Granola and Quill are also introducing new tools to extract insights and automate tasks from meeting notes. Granola’s “recipes” and Quill’s integration with various tools aim to streamline workflows and enhance productivity for users.

As Read AI expands its capabilities and user base, the future looks promising for AI-powered assistants like Ada, offering efficient solutions for business communication and task management.
