Bilton, only a few days into his position, communicated important news through an email accessed by Status.
The email stated: “I began this role eager to work together and learn from the seasoned professionals of ‘60 Minutes,’ including yourself.
“Therefore, one of my initial actions in this position was to reach out to you for a conversation and dinner invitation. It is profoundly disappointing that you declined that gesture and opted for confrontation instead.”
Bilton further expressed: “In our first staff meeting yesterday, you interrupted to criticize me, my credentials, and my goals with notable discourtesy and disdain.
“I am open to diverse opinions and respectful discussions among the team, but what occurred was far from that.
“The public display of aggression during the meeting, rather than engaging in a private, respectful dialogue, showed your lack of interest in contributing to the program’s future success or embracing my leadership with a willingness to collaborate and advance.”
