A former reality TV star, Chad Aaron Ollinger, known for his appearance on Discovery Channel’s “Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch,” has been accused of beating his cellmate to death just days before his scheduled release. The incident took place at the Clark County Detention Center in Nevada, where guards discovered the motionless body of Ollinger’s cellmate, who had suffered apparent blunt force injuries after a physical altercation inside the cell.

Despite efforts to save him, the inmate was declared dead at the scene, leading to Ollinger’s immediate re-booking for open murder. The 41-year-old was set to be released on January 12, but now faces serious charges related to the death of his cellmate. The motive behind the violent brawl remains unclear.

Ollinger, who is the son of Duane Ollinger, the owner of Blind Frog Ranch in Eastern Utah, gained fame through the Discovery series where they search for hidden gold in cave networks under the property. However, Ollinger’s legal troubles began in November 2024 when he was arrested for evading police and faced subsequent charges for driving offenses in Texas.

In July, Ollinger was reported missing by his family in New Mexico, leading to his entry into the National Crime Information Center as a missing person. He was later found in Albuquerque, and in October, he was arrested in Clark County, Nevada for contempt of court. Despite a short sentence, Ollinger was due to be released in January 2026 before the recent incident.

Now held without bail, Ollinger is scheduled to be arraigned on the new charges on Tuesday. The case has shocked fans and followers of the reality TV star, raising questions about his actions and the circumstances surrounding the tragic death of his cellmate.
