Reba McEntire is showering Dolly Parton with love after the country star addressed a rumor about her death.
“You tell âem, Dolly! All this AI stuff has us doing some wild things,” McEntire, 70, shared on Instagram on Thursday, October 9. “Youâre out there facing rumors of dying, while Iâm here waiting for a baby. Well, we both know youâre too young for that nonsense and Iâm too old.”
In a recent Instagram video, coach of The Voice showcased a generated AI photo that falsely depicted McEntire at the 9 to 5 singerâs imagined deathbed.
Another fabricated image showed McEntire holding a sonogram alongside her fiancé Rex Linn. Just to clarify: neither is real.
While McEntire aimed to laugh off the âcrazyâ rumors, she also expressed heartfelt support for her dear friend after Parton faced a health scare.
“You know Iâm sending prayers your way,” McEntire continued. “I love you deeply, and I canât wait to see you soon. Love you so much!”
Following health anxieties, Parton, 79, assured her fans via a social media clip on Wednesday, October 8, made in-between filming commercials for the Grand Ole Opry.
“Back when my husband, Carl, was gravely ill, I didnât take care of myself afterward, allowing some things to slip. Eventually, the doctor notified me that I needed to address a couple of things. Nothing serious, but I had to cancel a few engagements to get closer to home and receive treatment at Vanderbilt [University Medical Center]. But I want you to know Iâm not dying,” she explained. (Partonâs husband, Carl Dean, passed away in March at 82.)
Regarding the untrue photo of her with McEntire that circulated online, Parton made it clear that it was entirely fabricated.
“Did you see that AI image of Reba and me? Oh my goodness. They had Reba next to my deathbed â and we both looked ready for a coffin! I mean, if I were dying, I highly doubt Reba would be the one there. She might pop in earlier, but still… I donât think Godâs finished with me and thereâs work left to do. Thank you all for your care, keep those prayers coming,” she added.
A few days ago, Dollyâs sister Freida Parton made headlines when she posted on Facebook that she was “up all night praying” for the iconic singer.
Dollyâs manager, Olly Rowland, reassured fans on October 6 that Dolly is doing well.
“Itâs only kidney stones, and she needs a procedure to manage them,” the manager commented to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “It appears her sisterâs post gained far more attention than warranted, which is strange.”
Eventually, McEntire ended up having a good laugh about the entire incident.
“Too young to die, too old for babies! đ” she posted on Instagram. “Love you, @DollyParton! See you shortly! â€ïž”
