A disturbing hit-and-run incident occurred in the Bronx over the weekend, leaving three women injured after a heated altercation. The incident took place on East Tremont Avenue near Puritan Avenue in Schuylerville around 4:30 a.m. on Sunday. The culprit, driving a blue Mitsubishi Outlander, engaged in a dispute with a group of individuals before intentionally driving onto the sidewalk and striking the three women, aged 27, 31, and 40, who were strangers to him.
Fortunately, all three victims were taken to Jacobi Medical Center and were reported to be in stable condition following the incident. The reckless driver, however, remains at large as authorities continue their search for the perpetrator. Surveillance footage released by the NYPD captured the moment the SUV driver veered onto the sidewalk, narrowly missing a bystander who managed to evade the vehicle’s path.
The motive behind the altercation that led to the hit-and-run remains unclear, leaving many questions unanswered. The NYPD has described the driver as a man with a heavy build, last seen wearing a black shirt, black pants, white sneakers, and a red baseball cap.
