On Friday, two Republican members of Congress are set to propose legislation that would feature Charlie Kirk’s likeness on commemorative silver dollar coins.
The initiative, led by Representatives Abe Hamadeh (R-Ariz.) and August Pfluger (R-Texas), intends to instruct the Treasury to mint 400,000 silver dollar coins in 2026, displaying the phrase “well done, good and faithful servant” on one side, and the image and name of the late conservative activist on the other side.
These coins will serve as legal tender.
“Charles ‘Charlie’ James Kirk was an American icon,” Hamadeh remarked in a press release. “It is only appropriate that we honor him with a commemorative coin that will be treasured.”
Since 1892, the U.S. Congress has approved more than 150 commemorative coins.
If the legislation passes, Kirk would hold the record as the youngest American to be commemorated on legal U.S. currency, as noted by Hamadeh and Pfluger.
According to the lawmakers, the coins will be produced at no expense to taxpayers, with the final design requiring approval from President Trump.
<p“Charlie Kirk was a conservative powerhouse, and his transformative influence on millions of Americans warrants enduring recognition among our nation’s premier leaders and influential figures,” Pfluger stated. “This commemorative coin will ensure that Charlie joins the ranks of the youngest Americans honored on legal U.S. currency, a deserving tribute that solidifies his remarkable legacy alongside the founders and presidents that shaped our republic.”
“Through his leadership at Turning Point USA and unwavering commitment to American values, Charlie ignited a movement whose flame we shall carry onward to defend our nation’s core ideals for future generations.”
Kirk, only 31 years old, tragically lost his life on September 10 during an event at Utah Valley University.
On Sunday, tens of thousands gathered to honor him at a memorial service in Glendale, Arizona.
High-ranking officials, including President Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, were among those who spoke at the service. The emotional event also featured remarks from Kirk’s widow, Erica Kirk, and various other conservative leaders.
Tyler Robinson, aged 22, has been charged with aggravated murder and several other offenses in connection with Kirk’s death.
Utah prosecutors are pursuing the death penalty against Robinson.
