Rey Fenix, a prominent figure in the world of lucha libre, values the mystery surrounding his identity. Despite this, he recently posted an emotional message featuring a rare photo of himself without his mask.
On April 4, 2025, Fenix stepped into the WWE ring for the first time on SmackDown, facing Nathan Frazer. He emerged victorious in this debut match, receiving an enthusiastic response from the Chicago audience.
Thanks for the submission!
In a post on X, previously known as Twitter, Rey Fenix marked the one-year anniversary of his WWE debut. He shared a picture of himself without his mask, embracing his wife and two children, though his family’s presence obscured his face.
“A year ago. There is nothing better a man can have than a family that supports him in any situation. The real gold!” Fenix tweeted, translated from Spanish to English.
Since joining WWE, Rey Fenix’s journey has been less remarkable compared to his brother, Penta, who holds the Intercontinental Championship. Fenix experienced setbacks, including a loss at WrestleMania and a brief partnership with Andrade, who was later released. Lately, he has performed mainly on Main Event and AAA since January.
Rey Fenix and Penta tease Lucha Bros reunion
During the first week of the 2026 Rey de Reyes, Rey Fenix introduced his brother Penta, who revealed plans to defend the Intercontinental Championship in AAA. El Hijo del Vikingo responded to Penta’s open challenge last week.
Penta also addressed a shoulder injury from late last year, which had led to the cancellation of their planned reunion match at Guerra de Titanes against Dominik Mysterio and El Grande Americano. Nonetheless, Cero Miedo hinted at another reunion match in AAA, possibly at Triplemania or upon the promotion’s return to Puebla, Mexico.
The Lucha Bros have been recognized as one of the best tag teams globally, winning tag team titles in various promotions, including All Elite Wrestling, TNA Wrestling, Major League Wrestling, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, AAA, Ring of Honor, and House of Glory.
