WASHINGTON — On Thursday, Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. made a return visit to Capitol Hill. During his visit, he defended the administration’s initiatives to combat health care fraud and enhance affordability, while intentionally steering clear of any discussions about vaccine policies.

The Ways and Means hearing, which lasted several hours on Thursday morning, addressed a broad spectrum of topics concerning Kennedy’s Department of Health and Human Services. This session marked the beginning of a series of extensive testimonies focused on the president’s proposed budget.

In a subsequent hearing with the House Appropriations health subcommittee, Kennedy revealed that the president intended to announce the name of the nominee to lead the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention by the end of the week. Shortly thereafter, Trump announced the nominee.
