Senator Angela Alsobrooks (D-MD) interrogated the HHS Secretary on his alleged proposal to relocate every black child to farms for work.
Alsobrooks inquired:
You mentioned that every black child is routinely prescribed Adderall, SSRIs, and benzodiazepines, which are associated with violence. You suggested these children could be reparented in communities without phones or screens.
Furthermore, you stated—according to the transcript—that you would, if possible, send every black child to live and work on farms. Is this your stance?
Kennedy interjected, “I would like to hear that recording because I have no recollection of making such a statement.”
Alsobrooks responded, “I have the recording, which I can provide to you. It clearly captures your words, and I can play it if needed.”
Kennedy elaborated, “If you ask for my perspective, I do not support the idea that every black person should be reparented on a wellness farm. That has never been my belief, and it is not my vision for this nation.”
Senator Alsobrooks replied, “I’m relieved because such statements were ignorant, dangerous, and irresponsible.”
Kennedy reiterated his lack of memory regarding the suggestion that all black children should be sent to work on farms, saying, “If I did say it, I apologize, but I would need to review the transcript.”

The Secretary of Health and Human Services is uncertain if he advocated for sending all black children to work on farms.
This uncertainty is troubling, and there were even more bizarre moments during the proceedings.
