NEW JERSEY – The upcoming gubernatorial election in New Jersey has become a focal point for the Republican National Committee (RNC) as they deploy resources to support Republican candidate Jack Ciattarelli in a closely contested race against Democratic Rep. Mikie Sherrill.
The RNC has significantly increased its presence in New Jersey with 50 county captains leading election integrity efforts, over 15,000 volunteers, five full-time staffers on the ground, and the introduction of a new get-out-the-vote platform called VotePro aimed at boosting Ciattarelli’s campaign.
“Democrats have invested heavily in this race without much to show for it, indicating that the governor’s race is highly competitive,” said RNC Regional Communications Director Delanie Bomar.
Compared to the previous governor’s race in 2021, the RNC has ramped up its efforts in New Jersey, with a focus on election integrity. Ciattarelli’s campaign has utilized tools like VotePro to engage voters and highlight key issues such as women’s sports.
The RNC has been actively involved in legal challenges and monitoring election integrity tests in various counties across the state to ensure a fair electoral process.
“The RNC recognizes the importance of this race and has made it a top priority compared to previous election cycles,” noted a national Republican strategist.
While Sherrill currently holds a slight lead in the polls, Ciattarelli aims to replicate his past performance of outperforming expectations on Election Day.
With Democrats historically not holding the New Jersey governorship for more than two consecutive terms, the race remains highly competitive.
Sherrill has garnered support from prominent Democratic figures like former President Barack Obama, as well as other political leaders who have rallied behind her during the final stretch of the campaign.
The DNC has also invested heavily in the New Jersey governor’s race, injecting over $3 million to support Sherrill’s campaign.
Overall, the race for the governorship in New Jersey is heating up as both parties mobilize resources and deploy strategies to secure victory in this closely watched election.
