Employee Robbed at Temporary Bally’s Casino in Chicago
A man claiming to be a casino employee was the victim of an attack and robbery inside a bathroom at the temporary Bally’s Chicago in the early hours of Monday morning. This incident marks the third robbery reported this month in the vicinity of Bally’s.
According to a Chicago police report, a 25-year-old man was inside a business on the 600 block of North Wabash Avenue at approximately 2 a.m. when he was confronted by two men. The assailants physically assaulted the victim, stole his belongings, including a silver and gold Rolex watch, and a heated jacket, before fleeing northbound on Wabash Avenue.
While the CPD spokesperson did not disclose the name of the business, a representative from Bally’s confirmed that a “security-related incident” had taken place on the casino premises.
Responding to the incident, a spokesperson for Bally’s stated, “Bally’s Chicago is aware of a security-related incident that occurred on our property late last evening. The safety and well-being of our guests, team members, and community remain our top priority. We are working closely with local authorities and regulatory bodies on this matter to ensure a safe and secure environment at Bally’s.”
Although the casino spokesperson did not confirm the victim’s employment status, law enforcement officials are on the lookout for two Hispanic men believed to be connected to the robbery.
Recent incidents in the area include a robbery at gunpoint in a parking garage across from the casino on December 23 and another armed robbery reported on December 7 involving a couple near a hotel on North Wabash Avenue.
Surveillance footage from the December 7 incident showed three suspects arriving in a black SUV before the robbery occurred. The offenders, described as young Black men dressed in all black clothing, were armed and fled the scene after the robbery.
