Running Point’s Drew Tarver Jokes About Lisa Rinna’s Cameo

Lisa Rinna‘s memorable appearance on Running Point made a lasting impact on her fellow actors.

Drew Tarver, who acted alongside Rinna, shared his thoughts with Us Weekly, stating, “Oh, my God. She was so funny. Her screaming at me — it was very fun.”

Tarver commended Rinna for her talent in portraying an exaggerated version of herself, adding, “She’s really good at it. And I was scared.”

The popular Netflix show, debuting in 2025, features Kate Hudson as a former party girl who gets the opportunity to showcase her abilities when she is entrusted with her family’s professional basketball team.

Besides Hudson, Running Point includes performances by Scott MacArthur, Fabrizio Guido, Chet Hanks, Toby Sandeman, Justin Theroux, Tarver, Brenda Song, and Uche Agada. The sports comedy is also known for its impressive celebrity cameos.

In interviews with Us before season 2, several cast members expressed their enthusiasm for a potential appearance by Hudson’s stepfather, Kurt Russell. It was proposed by Us that Russell take on the role of the late Gordon patriarch in April 2026, a suggestion that was warmly received by the cast.

MacArthur, who plays Ness, humorously remarked that he “always thought” of Russell as his father, stating, “So I’m all in.” Guido, who plays the new Gordon family member Jackie, also expressed interest in working with Russell.

“I’ve been around, and I didn’t even think of that. Wow!” he said, while season 2 guest star Ken Marino remarked in his own conversation with Us, “That’d be fantastic! Yes, that’s perfect. Get that out there!”

The suggestion also received affirmation from executive producer David Stassen, who mentioned that discussions have been underway.

“That’s a great idea,” Stassen said. “And it’s been tossed around. We’ve talked about it. If we ever do see him, we could not do better than Kurt Russell.”
