Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively have discovered a peaceful haven amidst the chaos of their legal battles and media scrutiny with director Justin Baldoni. According to Humphrey Ker, a close friend of the couple and executive director of Wrexham AFC, the Welsh soccer club co-owned by Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, the Hollywood power couple finds solace in their visits to Wrexham.
Ker revealed that the community’s focus on soccer, rather than celebrity status, allows Reynolds and Lively to temporarily escape the relentless spotlight. “What they love about coming to Wrexham is that no one there cares about their fame,” Ker shared. “What matters to them is whether he’ll buy them a new center back. It’s a getaway. I empathize with them.”
The actor, who shares a history with Prince William from their days at Eton, acknowledged the challenges the couple has faced over the past year and a half. “They have been through a lot with all the legal issues and are still dealing with it in some ways,” Ker stated. “The public interest may fluctuate, but the underlying issues persist.”
Meanwhile, Lively has achieved a significant victory in her sexual harassment lawsuit against Baldoni and producer Jamey Heath. Recent court documents reveal that a federal judge has ordered Heath to surrender all footage of his wife Natasha’s home birth, a video that Lively claims he showed her on set without warning.
In a ruling issued in the Southern District of New York, Judge Lewis J. Liman mandated that Heath produce the birth video within three days. This decision follows Lively’s efforts to penalize Heath for allegedly withholding crucial evidence.
According to Lively’s complaint, Heath displayed a clip of “a fully nude woman with her legs spread apart” to her and her assistant, initially leading her to believe it was pornography. Heath later clarified that it depicted his wife giving birth.
Heath denies showing the birth footage, insisting that he only shared a post-birth clip featuring his family. However, the court supported Lively’s claims, stating that the full footage could contain evidence that supports her story and contradicts Heath’s statements.
Judge Liman emphasized that Heath should have provided the additional footage as per his prior order, and ruled that Lively is entitled to any relevant documents or communications related to the allegations, including the disputed video.
As the legal battles continue, Reynolds and Lively find respite in their visits to Wrexham, where they can enjoy a semblance of normalcy away from the glare of the public eye.
