Ryan Seacrest shared the heartbreaking news of his father, Gary Lee Seacrest‘s passing after a long battle with prostate cancer.
In an emotional Instagram post, Ryan announced the peaceful passing of his father earlier in the week, expressing comfort in knowing that Gary is now free from pain and suffering.
In a heartfelt conclusion to his tribute, Ryan expressed his eternal love for his father, stating that Gary will forever remain in their hearts.
Earlier this year, Ryan had revealed on his show “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” that his father had been battling prostate cancer privately for years, with treatment unfortunately proving ineffective.
Ryan recounted the highs and lows of his father’s cancer journey, including the terrifying moment when he received news of his father’s ICU admission during an episode of “American Idol.”
Gary is survived by his wife, Marie Zullinger, of 55 years, along with Ryan, daughter Meredith Seacrest, son-in-law Jimmy Leach, and granddaughter Flora Leach.
Gary Seacrest was 81.
