Samsung has recently completed its A series lineup for the year by launching the Galaxy A26 alongside the Galaxy A36 and Galaxy A56. The Galaxy A26 is the most budget-friendly model in the series, offering a great combination of features at an affordable price point.

The official unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy A26 took place on either 1st or 2nd March 2025, depending on the region. The phone is set to be released in the UK on 19th March 2025, available for purchase through various channels like operators, retailers, and Samsung’s official website. While a US release has been confirmed, the exact date is yet to be announced.

In terms of pricing, the Galaxy A26 is available in the UK and US with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage at a price of ÂŁ299/$299.99.

Design-wise, Samsung has made the Galaxy A26 slimmer at 7.7mm compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy A25. The phone also features an IP67 rating, making it dust-resistant and water-resistant up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. It comes in four color options: Black, White, Mint, and Peach Pink.

The display of the Galaxy A26 is a 6.7-inch OLED panel with a 1080p+ resolution, an upgrade from the previous model. The phone retains a notch for the selfie camera and has a side-mounted fingerprint reader.

Under the hood, the Galaxy A26 is powered by the Exynos 1380 chipset, offering solid performance. It comes with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage, with a microSD card slot for expandable storage.

The camera setup on the Galaxy A26 includes a 50MP main sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro sensor. The front-facing camera is a 13MP unit. The phone lacks video HDR functionality.

The Galaxy A26 is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery for long-lasting usage. However, it features 25W charging, which is slower compared to the A36 and A56 models.

On the software front, the Galaxy A26 runs on Android 15 with One UI 7, promising a fresh user experience. Samsung has committed to providing six years of security updates and six major Android OS updates for the device.

Overall, the Samsung Galaxy A26 offers a great set of features at an affordable price point. It’s worth considering for those looking for a budget-friendly smartphone with a good balance of performance and features.
