Summary created by Smart Answers AI

In summary:

  • The anticipated launch of the Samsung Galaxy A27 alongside the A57 and A37 models was missed, leading to speculation about the reasons for its delay.
  • According to Tech Advisor, Geekbench listings suggest that the A27 might incorporate a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset, deviating from the Exynos chips typically used in Samsung’s budget phones.
  • This potential upgrade in chipset could account for the delay and might lead to a price increase, in line with Samsung’s broader pricing changes for 2026.

The Samsung Galaxy A27 was expected to debut alongside the Galaxy A57 and A37. However, it was conspicuously absent from the launch event. Insights from a recent Geekbench listing might shed light on the reasons behind this delay.

The Geekbench platform, which assesses chipset performance, recorded the A27 achieving a notable 777 in the single-core test and 1802 in the multi-core test. These figures are commendable for a budget phone. However, the standout detail is the use of the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset in these results, marking a significant strategic shift.

Traditionally, Samsung has equipped its budget-friendly phones with its in-house Exynos chipsets. Both the Galaxy A57 and A37, as well as the previous year’s Galaxy A26, feature Exynos chips.

This move isn’t entirely unexpected, as the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 was also utilized in the earlier Galaxy A36 model. Nevertheless, the inclusion of such a high-caliber Qualcomm chip in one of Samsung’s budget offerings is noteworthy and could be a factor in the delay.

The version of the A27 tested features 6GB of RAM alongside the Snapdragon chipset. However, it’s anticipated that other configurations may be available, similar to the 256GB model of the A26, which comes with 8GB of RAM.

While there is no definitive information on whether the Galaxy A27 will see a price hike due to the upgraded CPU, Samsung’s current pricing strategy for its 2026 lineup suggests it is possible.

It is already known that the Galaxy A57 bears a slightly higher price tag than its predecessor. Additionally, the Galaxy S26 series introduced a significant price increase, with the standard model costing £100/$100 more than the previous Galaxy S25.

Price increases are also planned for existing models like the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, and S25 Edge in South Korea. It remains to be seen if these adjustments will extend to other markets.
