Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Series Launch Delayed to 25th February 2026
In the world of tech enthusiasts, January marks the beginning of new possibilities, cost-saving measures, and the eagerly anticipated launch of Samsung’s flagship phones. However, the year 2026 seems to be breaking away from tradition, with reports surfacing about a delay in the release of the upcoming Galaxy S26 series.
Initially shrouded in mystery, the delay had left both journalists and smartphone aficionados wondering about the extent of the postponement. Would the Galaxy S26 launch be significantly late, possibly overlapping with the bustling spring launch season?
Fortunately, recent reports from Korean newspaper Money Today have shed some light on the situation. The Galaxy S26 series is now expected to be unveiled at a Galaxy Unpacked event in San Francisco on 25th February 2026. This launch date would mark a considerable delay compared to the Galaxy S25 series, which debuted on 22nd January 2025, and the Galaxy S24 series, which was introduced on 31st January 2024.
Interestingly, the 25th February launch date is in close proximity to the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026, scheduled for 2nd-5th March. While Samsung has not unveiled flagship phones at MWC since the Galaxy S5 in 2014, the Galaxy S26 series could find itself competing directly with devices from other manufacturers such as the Xiaomi 17 series.
The delay in the Galaxy S26 series launch has sparked speculation about the lineup changes that may be causing the postponement. Early leaks hinted at a revamped lineup, with a Galaxy S26 Pro replacing the base model and the Plus variant making way for the ultra-slim Galaxy S26 Edge. Money Today’s report suggests that these adjustments are the primary reason behind the delay.
However, reports of lackluster sales of the S25 Edge have reportedly prompted Samsung to reconsider its strategy. The latest buzz indicates that Samsung may stick with the same lineup as the Galaxy S25 series – regular, Plus, and Ultra – while scrapping the S26 Edge altogether.
If these rumors hold true, the delay in the launch could turn out to be for naught. With rumored minor hardware upgrades and a potentially underwhelming lineup, Samsung risks being overshadowed by announcements at MWC. Hopefully, Samsung has some surprises up its sleeve to make the Galaxy S26 series one of the standout choices in 2026.
