Samsung has recently announced the expansion of its One UI 8 beta programme to include older Galaxy devices, along with the confirmation of the full release date for One UI 9. The beta programme was initially launched on the Galaxy S25 range in May, with subsequent updates being rolled out to the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy Watch 7 lines.
Now, Samsung has revealed its plans to bring the One UI 8 beta updates to older devices starting with the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6, beginning next week. The rollout will kick off in select regions including South Korea, the US, the UK, and India.
In addition to the beta programme expansion, Samsung has also shared that the One UI 8 beta will be extended to the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy A36 5G, Galaxy A55 5G, Galaxy A35 5G, and Galaxy A54 starting in September. Users of these Samsung Galaxy devices can sign up for the beta programme through the Samsung Members app.
The official release of One UI 8 is slated for September as well, following the beta testing phase. The rollout will begin with the Galaxy S25 series and will incorporate feedback from the beta programme before being extended to other devices.
One UI 8, which made its debut on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE last month, features a similar design to One UI 7 but introduces smarter and more context-sensitive AI features.
Overall, Samsung’s expansion of the One UI 8 beta programme to older devices and the upcoming release of One UI 9 indicate the company’s commitment to providing a seamless and enhanced user experience for Galaxy device users.
