Savannah Guthrie’s mother, Nancy Guthrie, is currently missing after her pacemaker stopped syncing with her Apple Watch. The Apple Watch is known for its ability to connect with health devices to monitor vital signs through Bluetooth technology. Nancy’s pacemaker, which is used to treat irregular heart rhythms by sending electrical signals to the heart, stopped syncing with her watch around 2 am on Sunday.
Nancy was reported missing on Sunday when she did not show up for church. She was last seen at her house on Saturday evening, around 9:45 pm. Upon arriving at her home, her family found her cellphone, wallet, and keys, but Nancy was nowhere to be found. There were signs of forced entry at her home, and blood was discovered inside.
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos has been leading the investigation into Nancy’s disappearance. He expressed emotion during a press conference, stating that they are not giving up hope in finding her alive. The circumstances surrounding Nancy’s disappearance are still unclear, but investigators are considering the possibility of a kidnapping or abduction.
Sheriff Nanos announced a $2,500 reward for information leading to an arrest in Nancy’s case. DNA tests have been conducted, but results are pending. While the possibility of a targeted incident has not been ruled out, there is currently no evidence to support that theory.
In response to her mother’s disappearance, Savannah Guthrie immediately flew to Arizona, where she has been actively involved in the search efforts. She has temporarily stepped away from her hosting duties on the Today show and the Winter Olympics to focus on finding her mother. Savannah took to Instagram to ask for prayers and support, expressing her belief in the power of unity, love, and hope.
The community has rallied around the Guthrie family, offering prayers and support as they continue to search for Nancy. Savannah has urged her followers to join in prayer and faith, believing that through their collective efforts, Nancy will be brought home safely. The family is holding onto hope and staying strong during this difficult time.
