“Schitt’s Creek” Available on HBO Max with New Playlist Feature
Emmy-winning comedy “Schitt’s Creek” will be joining the lineup on HBO Max starting Saturday, Feb. 7, giving fans the opportunity to stream all six seasons of the beloved series. Along with this addition, HBO Max is launching a special “Schitt’s Creek” playlist through their in-app “channels” feature, providing subscribers with a continuous feed of the show on-demand.
Created by Dan Levy and Eugene Levy, “Schitt’s Creek” follows the hilarious journey of the Rose family as they adjust to life after losing their fortune and moving to the small town of Schitt’s Creek. The show, which originally aired on CBC in Canada and Pop TV in the U.S., gained widespread popularity when it became available on Netflix.
Throughout its six-season run, “Schitt’s Creek” received critical acclaim and numerous accolades, including 19 Emmy nominations and nine wins, with seven of those wins coming in its final season.
The addition of “Schitt’s Creek” to HBO Max comes in the wake of the passing of Catherine O’Hara, who portrayed the eccentric Moira Rose on the show. O’Hara, known for her iconic roles in films such as “Home Alone” and “Beetlejuice,” won an Emmy for her performance in “Schitt’s Creek” in 2020.
Eugene Levy, who co-created the show with his son Dan, paid tribute to O’Hara following her death, expressing his deep sorrow and sharing fond memories of their long-standing friendship and professional collaboration.
“Schitt’s Creek” is produced by Not a Real Company Productions and is licensed by Paramount Global Content Distribution and ITV Studios. In addition to HBO Max, fans can also enjoy the series on streaming platforms such as Prime Video and Hulu.
