Scooter Braun has addressed the fan theories linking his 2022 divorce from Yael Cohen to Taylor Swift’s song "Vigilante S." In a recent podcast episode, Braun denied that the song was inspired by his breakup, emphasizing that he maintains a close friendship with his ex-wife. He explained that he and Cohen consider each other as partners and family for life, even sharing a tattoo that symbolizes their unity post-divorce.

Despite the rampant speculation, Braun made it clear that he and Cohen never believed the song was about them. He humorously remarked that the theories served as a "great strategy move" to generate buzz for "Vigilante S," but he was not the lyrical inspiration behind the track.

Braun filed for divorce from Cohen in July 2021 after seven years of marriage. The couple, who have three children together, finalized their divorce in September 2022, with Braun agreeing to pay child support and split assets. In the same year, Taylor Swift released "Vigilante S" on her Grammy-winning album, "Midnights."

In the song, Swift sings about needing proof and mentions an "ex-wife" getting the house, kids, and pride. Fans speculated that the reference to the "ex-wife" was Cohen due to Swift’s well-known issues with Braun. Swift had previously been in a dispute with Braun and Scott Borchetta after Braun’s company acquired Big Machine Records, the label that owned Swift’s back catalog.

Swift’s ongoing battle to reclaim ownership of her music culminated in her re-recording and releasing her earlier albums as "Taylor’s Version." She was able to purchase back the masters from Shamrock Capital earlier this year, fulfilling a long-held dream.

In response to Swift’s success in regaining control of her music, Braun expressed happiness for her in a statement to Us Weekly. He acknowledged the significance of the moment for Swift and her fans, underscoring his support for her endeavors moving forward.

Overall, while the speculation around "Vigilante S" may have fueled curiosity, Braun and Cohen’s amicable relationship post-divorce remains a testament to their commitment to co-parenting and maintaining a strong bond for the sake of their children.
