During his daily podcast, Coffee With Scott Adams, where he dissects contemporary news and frequently references articles from , Adams shared an amusing anecdote about his interaction with the former president. He initially missed Trump’s call, sending it to voicemail, only to later discover it was the sitting president reaching out to him.
Adams recounted the moment:
So yesterday I was home, inundated with messages regarding my health update. With the constant influx of calls, I had to manage my responses carefully. When I noticed an unfamiliar number from Florida, I opted to send it to voicemail. Later, I checked the message and saw the transcription start with, “This is your favorite president.” I thought, no way. Did I just leave a voicemail for the most important person in the world? Indeed, it was Trump, calling to check on my well-being after hearing about my health issues.
He left a rather lengthy voicemail expressing concern and even provided his number, suggesting I could return his call. Naturally, I hesitated to call back. After all, what could I possibly say to someone who is likely preoccupied with more pressing matters than a chat with me? Hours later, I received another call from a different Florida number, and I thought, no way this is happening again.
I answered, and it was Trump once more. He was genuinely interested in my situation, had many questions, but I won’t delve into the specifics of our conversation out of respect. At the end of our chat, he offered, “If you need anything, I’ll make it happen.” It was an unexpected kindness from someone I’ve had a parallel journey with since 2015. It’s a surreal experience, to say the least, but certainly memorable. That’s my story.
