A series of random stabbings shook the Chinatown-International District in Seattle, Washington, as a maniac went on a stabbing spree, targeting nine innocent victims over a span of two days. The suspect is believed to have stabbed five people on Friday and is also suspected of being behind four more stabbings that occurred in the same area on Thursday. Deputy Chief Eric Barden noted similarities in suspect descriptions and crime profiles, leading authorities to believe that the same man was responsible for the attacks on both days.
The police were able to apprehend the suspect based on witness descriptions and found him with a weapon nearby. The previous day, a 53-year-old woman, a 32-year-old man, and a 37-year-old man fell victim to multiple stab wounds in the Chinatown neighborhood. In a disturbing incident on Thursday night, a tenth stabbing was reported as an assailant attempted to steal a phone from a 60-year-old man sitting in his car.
