“Seinfeld” will continue to stream on Netflix for another five years after renewing its licensing agreement with the platform.

The acclaimed sitcom has also extended its contract with Paramount, securing exclusive basic cable rights in the U.S. for three more years on Comedy Central, TV Land, and other Paramount networks. Details of the financial terms remain undisclosed.

In 2021, all 180 episodes of “Seinfeld” became available on Netflix and Comedy Central. Sony Pictures Television had previously inked streaming and cable deals in 2019 with Netflix and Viacom, prior to Viacom’s merger with CBS, which was later renamed Paramount Global.

First airing in 1989, “Seinfeld” continues to be one of television’s most valuable assets. The “show about nothing” managed to reach 60 million Americans in just the first half of 2026, according to Nielsen, with viewers watching at least one minute of the program on streaming or linear TV.

Created by Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David, the series introduced a legendary cast including Seinfeld, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jason Alexander, and Michael Richards. Its influence is evident in its lasting impact on television culture and the many “Seinfeld”-isms that have entered everyday language, such as “regifting” and “double-dipping.”

“‘Seinfeld’ is one of the most iconic and enduring series in television history, and we’re thrilled to continue our successful partnerships with both Netflix and Paramount to bring this remarkable series to audiences around the world,” said Keith Le Goy, chairman of Sony Pictures Television. “’Seinfeld’ demonstrates that exceptional intellectual property stands the test of time. The show’s timeless humor, unforgettable characters, and multigenerational appeal continue to create tremendous value for our partners while introducing one of television’s greatest comedies to new generations of fans.”

“The show famously about nothing is, in fact, everything, and we’re proud to be the streaming home of ‘Seinfeld,’ one of the greatest comedies in the history of TV,” added Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos.

“As one of the most influential and enduring comedies in television history, ‘Seinfeld’ continues to resonate with audiences across generations, and we’re proud that Paramount will remain its exclusive cable home,” said George Cheeks, chair of TV media at Paramount. “Iconic franchises like ‘Seinfeld’ are foundational to our programming strategy, and this renewal reinforces our commitment to delivering fan-favorite series that audiences love.”
