AEW’s Rebel recently used social media to disclose a heartbreaking update about her health. Her announcement has prompted a flood of supportive messages from fans and fellow wrestling personalities, including WWE superstar Alexa Bliss.
Rebel embarked on her pro-wrestling career in 2013, performing in various promotions such as TNA, Ohio Valley Wrestling, and World Wonder Ring Stardom. She even made a WWE appearance in 2019. An Oklahoma native, she joined AEW in its founding year, and started appearing on-screen for the company in 2020, aligning with Britt Baker and later with Jamie Hayter.
Over recent years, Rebel has been grappling with severe health challenges. She was diagnosed with primary pulmonary lymphoma late last year. Just a few hours ago, the 47-year-old revealed her doctors have now diagnosed her with terminal ALS, a neurodegenerative disease affecting her speech and mobility. In a poignant social media post, she expressed gratitude to her colleagues, Tony Khan, and fans for their unwavering support and asked for prayers for a “peaceful passing.”
Since her announcement, Rebel has received an outpouring of prayers and well-wishes from her followers and peers in the wrestling industry. WWE superstar Alexa Bliss responded on X/Twitter a few hours ago, stating:
