SF1OG’s fall 2026 collection stayed true to its roots in teenage melancholy, drawing inspiration from the era between 2003 and 2007. This period, sandwiched between the early optimism of the Y2K era and the onset of the financial crisis, was characterized by emo culture, MySpace, and the constant presence of paparazzi. The collection was infused with a darker, more vulnerable aesthetic, which was further expanded upon through Victorian references.

Designers Rosa Marga Dahl and Jacob Langemeyer approached the collection with a focus on emotion rather than a specific image. They delved into questions of identity, particularly exploring how one presents themselves when they are alone versus when they are in the public eye. This dichotomy was influenced by the experiences of pop stars like Amy Winehouse and Lindsay Lohan in the 2000s, who navigated personal struggles under intense scrutiny. The Victorian era’s tradition of visible mourning attire, which outwardly communicated grief while shielding the inner self, also played a significant role in shaping the collection’s themes.

The garments in the collection reflected this tension between facade and concealment. Bar jackets with flared peplums were juxtaposed with slim-fit denim, while eveningwear was transformed into oversized cardigans and scarves. High collars, hoods, and deep side parts obscured the face, embodying an outsider attitude that was underscored by the soundtrack’s haunting refrain of “I’m a creep, I’m a weirdo.”

Layering was a key element in SF1OG’s collection, serving both as a protective shield and a means of revealing inner emotions. The designers combined antique linens, leather, and shearling with silk, sequins, and velvet, creating a textured and lived-in aesthetic. Dahl explained that the uncertainty of the modern world has instilled a yearning for the past among the younger generation, while also fostering a desire for self-expression and a break from safety.

The collection resonated with buyers in Paris, particularly the revival of 2010s-inspired denim that few designers have revisited. The brand’s foray into leather accessories, such as the leather college-style bag introduced on the runway, was met with enthusiasm and is anticipated to be a success.

SF1OG’s fall 2026 collection encapsulated the essence of youth culture, blending elements of the past with a contemporary desire for authenticity and individuality. The designers’ exploration of emotion, identity, and self-expression resulted in a collection that was both nostalgic and forward-thinking, resonating with audiences looking for depth and meaning in their fashion choices.
