Shemar Moore has caused quite a stir with his recent announcement on Instagram regarding his return for a “S.W.A.T” sequel series without his former cast members. The actor, known for his role as Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson, is set to star in the upcoming 10-episode spinoff titled “S.W.A.T. Exiles” after the original series concluded its eight-season run on May 16. However, the news that Moore’s co-stars, including Jay Harrington who portrayed fan favorite Deacon, will not be joining him has left many “S.W.A.T.” fans disappointed and critical.

In a video post shared on his Instagram, Moore acknowledged that his decision might not sit well with the industry or the fans. He addressed the resistance to change but emphasized the importance of growth, stating, “Without change, you can’t grow.”

Promising a new and improved version of the show, Moore described “S.W.A.T. Exiles” as “bigger” and “bolder,” likening it to “S.W.A.T on steroids.” He even went as far as to compare himself to Tom Brady, calling himself the “Tom Brady of ‘S.W.A.T.'” Moore defended his confidence by highlighting his dedication and hard work over the years, expressing excitement for the future.

Despite moving forward without his former colleagues, Moore expressed gratitude for the time spent with them, referring to them as “family for life.” It’s clear that the transition is bittersweet for him.

CBS announced the cancellation of “S.W.A.T.” in March after eight successful seasons. The synopsis for the new series teases an intriguing premise, with Hondo being pulled out of retirement to lead a unique SWAT unit composed of inexperienced recruits. The challenges he faces in uniting this diverse team to protect the city and preserve the program that shaped him are sure to captivate audiences.
