Sister Wives Recap: Robyn Recalls Having ‘Depression’ in Flagstaff
SHARE

Robyn Brown opened up about the challenges she and Kody Brown experienced in Flagstaff, Arizona, in the latest episode of Sister Wives, just before they sold their controversial home.

“The new house signifies a fresh start for me,” Robyn, 47, said during the October 12 episode of the TLC show. “I see a prosperous future there, which is uplifting.”

While both Robyn and Kody, 56, chose to remain in Arizona, they concurred that letting go of the residence where their family faced significant changes was an essential step toward “starting fresh” with their family.

“I went through a severe depression while living in this house during the time of all the separations and divorces,” Robyn revealed, alluding to the departures of Meri Brown, Janelle Brown and Christine Brown over the past three years. “Every time there was a breakup, it happened when we were living in this [house].”

In November 2021, Christine, 53, publicly announced her separation from Kody after more than 25 years of marriage. Janelle, 56, disclosed her split from Kody in December 2022, nearly three decades into their spiritual union.

Meanwhile, Meri, 54, issued a joint statement with Kody confirming their split in January 2023 after over thirty years of togetherness. Despite the turmoil, Robyn has remained steadfastly committed to Kody, facing challenges in their monogamous relationship.

“This home witnessed a string of unfortunate events. First, my family began to fracture, then I contracted COVID, and ultimately Christine departed,” Kody reflected on the unfortunate occurrences at their Flagstaff residence. “We had an unpleasant Christmas followed by another that we didn’t celebrate together.

He remarked it was an endless series of troubles, including the heartbreak of losing his and Janelle’s son Garrison in March 2024. (Garrison tragically passed away at the age of 25.)

“This location is filled with pain,” Kody expressed. He later shared with the cameras, “This is where my heart broke,” while gesturing towards the house. “We aspire to have a new start, something different, something refreshing,” Kody added.

Christine expressed that she had learned about Kody and Robyn’s house sale from a stranger online but praised them for taking steps toward their future. “Kody holds many painful memories in that house, associated with the departures of three wives while residing there,” she noted. “I believe it’s wise for him to move on—close that chapter and begin anew with Robyn.”

Kody and Robyn are parents to two biological children, Solomon, 13, and Ariella, 9, while Kody also serves as the stepfather to Robyn’s three children from her previous marriage: Dayton, 25, Aurora, 23, and Breanna, 21.

In April 2024, the couple listed their Flagstaff home, featuring five bedrooms and four bathrooms, at a price of $1.65 million. As disclosed in Sunday night’s episode of Sister Wives, the house sold quickly, and the family relocated to a new home nearby shortly after.

“We are moving forward, leaving behind a lot of pain and difficult memories,” Robyn shared during the episode. “I believe the new space will foster the kind of future we both envision.”

Everything the Sister Wives Stars Have Said About Coyote Pass

One year after transitioning to their new home, Kody, Robyn, Meri, and Janelle sold their Coyote Pass property in Arizona for $1.5 million. This 14-acre land was purchased by the Browns in 2018 and became a significant point of discussion after Kody’s various partnerships ended.

Christine, having given her stakes in the property to Kody and Robyn upon her departure in 2021, did not receive any funds from the sale. Nonetheless, she retained the proceeds from the sale of her own Arizona residence before relocating to Utah, where she married David Woolley in October 2023.

Sister Wives is broadcasted on TLC every Sunday at 10 p.m. ET.
