Donald Trump was a primary target of the “SNL U.K.” Weekend Update on Saturday. Co-hosts Paddy Young and Ania Magliano humorously suggested that Trump had an embarrassing mishap before a dramatic incident at the White House Correspondents Dinner.

Magliano described the gunman’s intrusion at the Washington event as “an undeniably terrifying event,” proceeding with the punchline that “President Donald Trump shat himself,” followed by “minutes later the shots rang out.” Young remarked that Melania Trump quickly discouraged jokes about the incident, insisting, “we’re real people,” while adding that she appeared to “blink sideways.”

The segment began with coverage of King Charles and Queen Camilla’s state visit to Washington. Young commented that Charles had given Trump an engraved bell, suggesting it be worn “on a collar like a cat to warn young women that he’s approaching.” Magliano humorously described Camilla’s necklace as “Diana’s horcrux” and noted her gown’s fuchsia shade matched “King Charles’s iconic hot pink fingers.” Meanwhile, Melania greeted the King with a kiss, “clicking her jaw against his to spell out, save me in Morse code.”

A fake professional lip reader was featured to interpret the leaders’ conversations, producing results far from diplomatic. According to these interpretations, Trump and Charles debated whether to prefer a prawn growing from their neck or having no neck at all, while Melania and Camilla were apparently discussing flavors of potato chips.

On domestic matters, Magliano criticized Reform U.K. party leader Nigel Farage for not declaring a £5 million ($6.7 million) donation from Thailand-based crypto billionaire Christopher Harborne. Young joked that if found negligent by the Electoral Commission, Farage could be penalized with an email of up to 400 words. Magliano pointed out that Reform claimed the donation was a personal gift, but for such a sum, “Nigel must have been providing some sort of valuable service.” She concluded by naming Farage as her “power bottom of the week.”

Additional topics included a new endometriosis scanning technique, which Magliano said would be available to women “just as soon as doctors work out how to make it incredibly painful.” A survey revealed that 39% of young Brits living at home reported reduced sexual activity, prompting Magliano to quip, “So if you want to keep having sex with your parents, move out.” Young also made a pun about a West Ham soccer team supporter who cooked a steak on a train using hair straighteners, saying, “There was a bit of beef, but I straightened it out.”

The segment poked fun at the upcoming lineup for “Celebrity Traitors,” which Young noted includes Maya Jama, James Acaster, and Ayatollah Khomeini. Young candidly admitted, “I’ll be honest, I didn’t really like ‘Celebrity Traitors,’” adding, “That’s why I call all those pigs who turned their back on [disgraced MasterChef host] Greg Wallace.”

“SNL U.K.” was hosted this week by Amy Lou Wood.
