The South International Series Festival in Cadiz from Oct. 25-31 is a key event that sets the tone for trends and highlights in the current season. The festival showcases some star performers that give insight into the direction of the market. Here are 10 titles to watch out for:

1. “The Big Jump” (Atresmedia International Sales)
Atresmedia’s biopic series follows the journey of Spanish gymnast Gervasio Deferr, from Olympic Gold Medals to struggles with drugs and alcohol. Starring Oscar Casas and directed by Roger Gual, the series premieres on Nov. 17.

2. “La Favorita 1922” (Mediterraneo)
A period piece set in 1922, the series follows Marquise Elena de Valmonte as she starts a restaurant in Madrid with four young women. Produced by Bambu Producciones, known for hits like “Grand Hotel” and “Velvet.”

3. “The Left-Handed Son” (Movistar Plus+)
A gem directed by Rafael Cobos, the series explores inherited trauma and inadequacy in a classist Seville setting. Featuring Andalusian music and captivating storytelling.

4. “Matilha” (aka “Dogpack,” RTP, Prime Video)
A character drama spin-off from the noirish series “South,” focusing on Matilha and Mafalda’s attempt to escape a criminal past. Executive produced by Joni Sighvatsson, the series has garnered attention at Berlinale.
