A high school special education teacher was seen crying in her mugshot following her arrest for allegedly sexually assaulting a student. Authorities now suspect there may be “multiple victims.”
Nadia M. Horn, a 22-year-old educator at North High School in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, was taken into custody on Wednesday. The arrest came after a school resource officer uncovered an inappropriate relationship between a staff member and a student.
“Through the course of the investigation, multiple victims have been identified,” stated the Eau Claire Police Department regarding Horn, who is also a former student of the same institution.
Lt. Mark Pieper told WEAU that it’s too early to determine the exact number of victims, and no further details about the initial allegations were provided.
Following the revelation of the allegations, district officials confirmed that Horn was suspended without pay, awaiting a “legal resolution.”
“Hearing about alleged inappropriate conduct by a staff member is deeply concerning for all of us,” Superintendent Mike Johnson expressed in a communication to the school community.
“We kindly ask the school community to respect the privacy of our students and their families and to avoid spreading rumors or speculation.”

Horn faces charges of sexual assault of a child by a school staff person and second-degree sexual assault of a child.
The investigation remains active, and officials noted that additional charges may be considered.
