Sony is offering a new perk for PlayStation Plus subscribers that goes beyond gaming. This new perk includes limited-time streaming access to the Sony-produced British TV series “Stags.”
Coming from Sony Pictures Television’s Eleven Film, “Stags” is set to premiere in the U.S. on February 11 exclusively for current PlayStation Plus subscribers. The series will be available for streaming on the Sony Pictures Core app on both the PS4 and PS5 consoles. Subscribers will have access to the six-episode first season of “Stags” until March 24.
Unlike traditional streaming services, there will not be an option to purchase the series or individual episodes. Instead, “Stags” will be part of a user’s PlayStation Plus membership across the Essential, Extra, or Premium tiers, priced at $9.99, $14.99, and $17.99 per month, respectively.
“Stags” follows the story of groom-to-be Stu and his friends on his stag party in South America. What was supposed to be a week of fun and celebration takes a dark turn when airport security discovers one of the stags smuggling cocaine. The group finds themselves on a notorious prison island run by two warring drug-dealing siblings, forcing them to choose sides for survival. Friendships are tested, and loyalties are questioned as they navigate through dangerous territory.
The series originally premiered on Paramount+ in the U.K. last August and features a talented cast including Nico Mirallegro, Charlie Cooper, Asim Chaudry, Corin Silva, and more. Executive producers Joel Wilson, Olivia Trench, and Carissa Hope Lynch bring “Stags” to life on screen.
