“Star Trek: Starfleet Academy” is set to premiere on Paramount+.
The series will kick off with its inaugural two episodes on January 15, 2026, followed by weekly episode releases until March 12. This news was unveiled during the “Star Trek” Universe panel at New York Comic-Con on Saturday.
Moreover, the panel confirmed that Stephen Colbert will contribute his voice to the show as Starfleet Academy’s Digital Dean of Students, responsible for making daily announcements and informing cadets about urgent matters.

As previously stated, “Starfleet Academy” has already received a renewal for a second season. Additionally, this week marks the launch of StarfleetAcademy.com, a platform for fans to explore life at the Academy, including its campus, academic programs, and faculty.
“Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” was also highlighted during the panel, featuring a new sneak peek from its upcoming fourth season. This show has officially been renewed for a fifth and final season by Paramount+.

“Starfleet Academy” features Holly Hunter in the role of Chancellor of Starfleet Academy, with cadets portrayed by Sandro Rosta, Karim Diané Kerrice Brooks, George Hawkins, and Bella Shepard. Zoë Steiner, Tig Notaro, Robert Picardo also join the cast, along with guest stars Oded Fehr and Mary Wiseman, and recurring guests Gina Yashere and Paul Giamatti.
The series aims to “introduce viewers to a diverse group of young cadets uniting to chase a shared dream filled with hope and optimism. Guided by their demanding instructors, they will learn the ropes of becoming Starfleet officers while managing growing friendships, competing rivalries, first experiences of love, and facing a new threat to both the Academy and the Federation.”
Executive producers for the series include Alex Kurtzman and Noga Landau, with additional executive producers Gaia Violo, Aaron Baiers, Olatunde Osunsanmi, Jenny Lumet, Rod Roddenberry, Trevor Roth, Frank Siracusa, and John Weber. The premiere episode is scripted by Gaia Violo and helmed by Alex Kurtzman, produced by CBS Studios in conjunction with Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment, and distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
Season 4 of “Strange New Worlds” showcases Anson Mount, Rebecca Romijn, Ethan Peck, Jess Bush, Christina Chong, Celia Rose Gooding, Melissa Navia, Babs Olusanmokun, along with guest star Carol Kane and special guest star Paul Wesley.
Akiva Goldsman and Henry Alonso Myers are co-showrunners for this season, alongside an executive production team consisting of Kurtzman, Goldsman, Myers, Aaron Baiers, Dana Horgan, Alan McElroy, Robbie Thompson, Siracusa, Weber, Chris Fisher, Mount, Roddenberry, and Roth. The series is produced by CBS Studios, Secret Hideout, and Roddenberry Entertainment.
