Spencer Pratt is transitioning from reality television to the political arena.
On the anniversary of the wildfire that destroyed his family home in Pacific Palisades, California, Pratt declared his candidacy for mayor of Los Angeles.
âThe system in Los Angeles isnât struggling; itâs fundamentally broken,â Pratt stated during the âThey Let Us Burnâ public demonstration on January 7, 2026. âIt is a machine designed to protect the people at the top and the friends they exchange favors with, while the rest of us drown in toxic smoke and ash. Business as usual is a death sentence for Los Angeles, and Iâm done waiting for someone to take real action.â
He added, âThis just isnât a campaign; this is a mission, and weâre gonna expose the system.â
In April 2026, a UCLA Luskin poll revealed that current Mayor Karen Bass was leading the mayoral race with 25 percent, while Pratt held 11 percent. Additionally, the poll indicated that 40 percent of voters remained undecided ahead of the June 2 primary.
As the campaign unfolds, Us Weekly explores celebrity opinions on Prattâs political aspirations, highlighting who supports the Hills alum and who opposes his latest career move.
Meghan McCain
The former View host shared her prediction for Prattâs mayoral bid on social media, though she did not disclose her hypothetical vote.
âIâm telling you this guy is going to win,â McCain, who resides outside California, commented via X on April 29, 2026, while sharing one of Prattâs campaign ads targeting Bass.
After a mayoral debate on May 6, 2026, McCain suggested that Pratt was a model for politicians of her generation.
âThis is not hyperbole â @spencerpratt is the blueprint for how my generation of older millennials needs to communicate and present their ideas and campaign messaging when running for office,â she tweeted. âHe is 10/10 no notes. Absolute raw talent. Killed the debate.â
James Woods
The Casino actor praised Pratt following a mayoral debate on May 6.
âSpencer Pratt is surprisingly effective, direct, polite, and prepared in tonightâs debate,â Woods tweeted. âThe other two have history as their enemy because everything theyâve done has been a catastrophe. He can absolutely win this thing.â
Yvette Nicole Brown
The Community actress expressed concerns about Pratt potentially gaining traction in the Los Angeles mayoral race.
âThis nation is unserious and has learned nothing. đ,â Brown posted via Threads on April 24, 2026, seemingly alluding to President Donald Trump, another reality TV star who entered politics.
Stephanie Pratt
Spencerâs sister stated she will not be endorsing him for mayor of Los Angeles.
âSpencer has done great work for the Palisades. But LA does not need another unqualified and inexperienced mayor,â Stephanie wrote via X on February 14, 2026. âA vote for him is a vote for stupidity. Heâs just trying to stay famous and sell his memoir donât be fooled. In an ideal world, the Palisades would have their own mayor and police department. I would love [for] him to be mayor of [the] Palisades but not LA with 4 million people. Iâd be impressed if a republican could turn LA democrats thb.â
Joe Rogan

âListen, man, Iâm voting for you,â Rogan told Pratt during the April 15, 2026, episode of his âJoe Rogan Experienceâ podcast.
While Rogan later clarified that he resides in Texas, he added, âI mean, if I lived in Los Angeles, no question whatsoever, I would vote for you.â
Kristin Cavallari
Although she currently lives in Tennessee, Cavallari was vocal about her support for Prattâs political endeavors.
âThis is more The Hills, but coming off of Laguna [Beach], I had a lot of people say, âTalk about Spencer running for mayor.â So you know what? Letâs talk about it,â Cavallari said during the April 21, 2026, episode of her âLetâs Be Honestâ podcast. âI think Spencer running for mayor is f***ing genius. Because I think everyone in politics â I donât care what side youâre on â everyone is corrupt.â
She continued, âTo get to that level, you have to play their game. Itâs all an agenda, and I think their goal is to keep all of us divided. They want us fighting, and thatâs why I donât buy into any of it.â
Patti Stanger
The Millionaire Matchmaker star has shown her support for Pratt on social media.
âHere we go CA,â she wrote via X on April 24, 2026, when sharing an article that revealed Pratt has raised more funds than Bass in the mayoral race. âItâs time to go red with @spencerpratt @SteveHiltonx ca is done with this crooked woke s***!â
She reiterated her support for Pratt in a May 4, 2026, X post. âI know @spencerpratt personally and heâs not only a great guy but a smart one! Only once [sic] choice la or we are donned [sic]! Spencer will lead us out of this s*** hole!â she wrote.
Johnny BananasÂ
The Challenge veteran voiced his support for Pratt with a brief social media post.
âThatâs my mayor  đ€,â he wrote via X on April 30, 2026, while sharing a link to one of Prattâs political ads.
Audrina Patridge
Prattâs former Hills co-star is cheering for him in his bid for Los Angeles mayor.
âHeâs very smart. He knew how to work reality TV. I know politics is very different â but I mean, he seems very intelligent and is well educated on what he needs to do,â she exclusively told Us Weekly on May 1, 2026. âIâm actually excited. He impressed me.â
Although Patridge resides in Orange County, California, and cannot vote in the L.A. mayoral election, she is enthusiastically supporting her former co-star.
âHe impressed me. I listened to some of his interviews, and at first when I heard, I was like, âWait, is he really doing it? Is it a joke? Is it real?ââ she shared. âBut he is, and he is very intelligent, and I think that he would make a lot of change to L.A. and he would follow through with what he said.â
Jonathan âFoodGodâ Cheban
âFrom what Iâm hearing, L.A. is literally getting a little bit of a heartbeat back. Thereâs only one chance to save L.A. and one person: Spencer Pratt,â FoodGod declared via Instagram on May 4, 2026. âJust because heâs a reality star does not mean he canât be mayor. Reality stars become billionaires. Reality stars become doctors. Theyâre very smart.â
The Kardashians star added, âIf you want to save L.A., you got to vote for Spencer Pratt ASAP.â
Jax Taylor
âThis race has nothing to do with politics for me,â the Valley alum shared via X on May 6, 2026. âIt has to do with cleaning up this absolute s*** hole of a city I live [in] and making it safe again for our children and our community because right now its [sic] a very scary unsafe for people to live. @spencerpratt.â
