What if a single pitch could transform everything?

When JS last hosted Startup Battlefield in Sydney, two relatively unknown startups took the spotlight. The result was over $85 million in funding raised.

If you’re aiming for your chance, applications are closing soon on July 6.

Back in 2017, Manuri Gunawardena, a final-year medical student, introduced HealthMatch, a platform using machine learning to connect patients with clinical trials. She emerged victorious at Startup Battlefield Australia.

This pivotal moment launched HealthMatch to secure over $25 million in funding, expand into the United States, and serve more than 1 million patients worldwide.

FluroSat, the runner-up, leveraged the exposure to gain a Microsoft seed round and eventually became part of Regrow Agriculture, which now boasts over $60 million in funding with support from Microsoft, Airtree, and Cargill.

That one day in Sydney led to $85 million raised, affecting millions and spawning global companies from a single opportunity.

Startup Battlefield is returning to Australia, but the window to apply is closing fast.

On August 19, 2026, JS Startup Battlefield Australia will take place again, this time in collaboration with Stripe.

This time, the stakes are even higher

Eight startups will pitch live at Stripe Tour Sydney, presenting to top investors, global media, and Australia’s leading tech community. The top three will receive up to $15,000 in Stripe fee credits. The grand winner gains automatic entry into Startup Battlefield 200 at JS Disrupt in San Francisco this October, bypassing applications and competition for a spot on the world’s premier startup stage.

This event is not only for pitching startups; it’s a significant moment for every founder, investor, and operator who has been making strides from afar.
