In a noteworthy diplomatic engagement, U.S. Special Presidential Envoy Steven Witkoff, alongside U.S. Ambassador to Oman Ana Escrogima, initiated discussions today in Muscat with Iranian Foreign Minister Dr. Abbas Araghchi. The meeting, graciously hosted by Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, was characterized by a spirit of positivity and constructive dialogue. The United States expressed its gratitude to the Sultanate of Oman for facilitating this important initiative.

Special Envoy Witkoff conveyed a clear directive from President Trump, emphasizing the administration’s desire to bridge the chasm between the U.S. and Iran through dialogue and diplomacy, should such a path be available. The complexities of these longstanding issues were acknowledged, yet Witkoff’s direct engagement marked a significant step toward finding a resolution that benefits both nations.

In a display of diplomatic commitment, both parties agreed to reconvene next Saturday, continuing what could be a pivotal dialogue in U.S.-Iran relations.
